Congratulations to Jim Magilton for landing the QPR job. You might think it’s not much of an achievement given that loads of people have done it recently, but on the other hand, it’s impressive given the number of candidates apparently on the shortlist, sitting as the favourite, or in the frame for the post this time around. So who were those other managers who got column inches they frankly didn’t need?
1. Aidy Boothroyd - Mirror, May 23 - Aidy Boothroyd is emerging as favourite to become the new boss of QPR - with a choice made from the five-man shortlist due this week.
2. Steve Cotterill - Mirror, May 23 - The former Hornets chief [Boothroyd] is also available without compensation but faces competition from Jim Magilton and Steve Cotterill among others.
