Perhaps it sounds odd that we felt the need to set up a sport website, given that we both feel that too much is written about sport these days. We could offer you a host of clichés about sport being more global than ever, how today’s sporting greats transcend their fields and are celebrities, how it is possible to analyse and scrutinise the game more closely than ever before, but that is not really sport as we care to recognise it. In an effort to sate ravenous curiosity, more journalists write more about sport, and that means that they veer recklessly into the realms of the obviously false, the misrepresented, and the scoops about nothing.
So we consider our little role here to be that of a torch shining a light on such shoddy journalism. With time, this can become an archive of the sports stories which never were, and become a great stopping point in everyone’s day to debunk news, point out the wonderful things that sportspeople say, and to encourage people to think a little more deeply about the sports they love. We spend so much of our time reading about sport and swapping stories that all we are really doing is putting it on a website for other people to read, and contribute to through the forums.
We aim not to shy away from the facts, and to assess stories as carefully as we can. At the same time, sport consumes us, so hopefully a little of our joy, frustration and humour will slip on to the pages.

Just popping in to say hi and to let you know I think it’s brilliant.
Not least b/c I agree with the cricket analyses…
Just a quick message to say that you articles are brilliant. I am always trying to get friends in work onto your articles/website, the way you cut apart pointless and rubbish articles the papers seem to write day in day out is quality.
