Ricky Hatton: the cloudy comeback
Ricky Hatton has got some advice for us when it comes to the question of making a comeback. He told the BBC this week that we shouldn’t believe anyone but Ricky Hatton on this one:
“I have not made a decision yet. Until you hear it from the horse’s mouth, then don’t take it seriously.”
He added: [...]
Sports thoughts from the weekend - golfers young and old, England make winning easy and tough, and a bout potentially exciting and terrible
Watson so nearly breaks the records
It seemed to be scripted in fairy-tale. Tom Watson had been at or near the head of the leaderboard for four days. After 71 holes of the Open, he had just drained a birdie to give him a one shot lead. At the age of 59, he was preparing to par [...]
Katsidis camp takes Hatton’s name in vain
Pacquiao floored Hatton less than a week ago, but it hasn’t stopped the chatter around the prospect of Ricky Hatton’s next fight. What to do? You want to fight someone whose reputation is still intact, but nobody of that calibre would step in to the [...]
Who wants to fight Ricky Hatton?
Officially, for now, at least, Ricky Hatton’s proposed fight with Manny Pacquiao is not going to take place. The BBC, amongst others, report promoter Gareth Williams as saying that the fight, or lack of it, has been compromised by Pacquiao’s financial demands:
“I woke up on Wednesday morning and read Manny was still demanding a 60-40 split,” [...]
